Chapter 3: A New Game of Fate
Chapter 3: A New Game of Fate
The thunderous roar of the explosion tore through the silence of the desolate valley, reaching the ears of Zylxa from the planet Glyffra. Her presence on Earth was shrouded in mystery, her mission hidden in darkness and anonymity. She was an AI assassin, equipped with self-healing nanobots and a fusion of biological and mechanical prowess, a testament to the advanced technology of her home planet.
Apart from the golden band on her forehead, Zylxa wore a sleek, deep blue outfit. A translator device was embedded in her ear, bridging the linguistic gap between her world and ours. Though her arrival on Earth was mysterious, her connection to the planet was unique.
Her brother, Nyt'hon, had once been trapped in the genetic trafficking web of the NecroSyndicate on Glyffra. He had sacrificed himself for Zylxa’s freedom. His final wish was to liberate others from the clutches of the NecroSyndicate. With this purpose, he had sent Zylxa to Earth, where she would find allies to aid her mission. But upon arriving, Zylxa saw a world filled with horrors no less brutal than those of the NecroSyndicate—slavery, torture, and a multitude of power-hungry tyrants. This was why she had kept herself detached, but when fate brought her face-to-face with a beast, she had mercilessly sent it out of this world.
Today, the sound of this explosion had piqued her curiosity, as this area was off-limits to ordinary people. She activated her advanced surveillance system to locate the epicenter of the explosion near the forest. Then, she took out her hoverbike, another marvel of Glyffran engineering, capable of traversing any terrain—land, rocky paths, or water—and equipped with stealth technology. Mounting the hoverbike, she set off toward the explosion site.
It didn’t take her long to reach the scene. She saw the wreckage of the car and, among the debris, the half-burned corpse of the driver. She scanned it with her neuroscan and confirmed that he was already dead. Looking around, she found a young man lying unconscious among the nearby bushes. He was still alive, but his life was in danger. Zylxa had no conventional means of assistance. Deciding quickly, she thought it best to take him to her base. Using her superhuman strength, she effortlessly lifted him onto her hoverbike and took him to her base, where she began treating him. She activated the nanobots to heal his wounds, which began weaving their microscopic magic on his torn skin.
She then sat beside him, gazing intently as she spoke, "Hey, can you hear me? I am Zylxa, Zylxa Gygra. I am here to help you." But he lay silent, lost in the depths of unconsciousness.
Impatience began to gnaw at Zylxa. So many questions swirled in her mind.
"Is he truly worthy of healing?"
"Did I pick up the wrong person?"
"It seems right, but how can one tell right from wrong just by looking at someone’s face?"
She then turned to her console devices and tracked him.
"Hey Kyko, tell me about this person..."
"Sure, Zylxa, let me see what I can find... Yes, he is an Indian!"
"Now, what are Indians?"
"Wait! Let me explain. He is a descendant of the Indus Valley civilization, a distinct branch of humanity that was once far more advanced than the Europeans of that era. But then it got absorbed into the Vedic culture of Europe."
"What could have happened? Was the entire race wiped out? Massacred? Genocide?"
"Yes, there’s no doubt about it!"
"Okay! So is the young man a Hindu?"
"No, no! Hindu culture doesn’t align with Indian or Indus Valley culture. Modern Hindu culture is Gangetic culture!"
"So who is he?"
"He is a Sikh, a descendant of the original Indus Valley civilization and a distinct Indus culture."
"So is Sikh culture the true Indus culture?"
"Let me check! Sikh culture: 'Meditate on the Name, work hard, and share with others.'"
"Haha, principles are always good, but do they act on them?"
"No, no! Zylxa! These people are brave; they have never bowed in their history. Not only is doing wrong a sin, but even seeing wrong being done is a sin for them! But some opportunists have joined them over time."
"So how will we distinguish the real from the fake? How will we know if this young man is a true Sikh or an opportunist?"
"This has already been written by their guides: 'The dearest to me is the one who follows the path, not the one who merely calls himself a Sikh.' 'Only he who lives by the path is my Sikh, O Lord, I am a sacrifice to him.'"
"If you want, I can gather information from the energetic past graphone (epg) samples about how all this happened?"
"Kyko, yes... I’ll be back in a while," Zylxa said, leaving the room.
Her curiosity now drove her even more to find answers. She had an array of rare Glyffran devices and technology, including the epg, a special device capable of glimpsing the past of any location. She returned to the explosion site on her hoverbike.
She thoroughly examined the energy residues of the explosion and collected some energy samples with the epg. She then surveyed the area and rode her hoverbike to the road where she suspected the car might have crashed. But due to traffic and not knowing the exact time, it was impossible to obtain accurate energy samples. So, she returned to her base and updated the samples for Kyko.
"Hey Kyko, I’ve updated the samples. See if you can find anything..."
"Sure, Zylxa. I’m checking. It’s taking some time..."
"Yes, look at this!" Kyko generated some holographic graphics.
"In the first sample, the young man is seen in an injured state, removing his turban to bandage himself."
"In the second sample, the injured young man is running toward the car but is blown away by the explosion."
"In the third sample, the young man is looking at the car, with another person trapped in the steering wheel."
"In the fourth sample, he stands alone, injured, looking toward the road where some agents are firing."
"Kyko! Can you gather information about these agents?"
"Zylxa! They are agents of Dark Heldar. If they are enemies of this young man’s life, I am 100% sure he is genuine, and you’ve done a great job saving his life. This young man will be a good ally in your mission."
"Okay, Kyko! Can you give me an address for any Dark Heldar agent? I still want to confirm why such a big gang would be after this young man’s life."
"Yes, an agent (Mr. Soni Rai) is staying at the 'South Coast' hotel."
"Alright, Kyko! I’m activating the security protocol. Inform me if there’s any disturbance..."
"Sure, but remember, keeping an enemy alive is often more useful than killing them."
"Yes, of course, but let’s hope he knows how to value his life properly. Alright, see you."
Zylxa took out her hoverbike and rode to the hotel near the 'South Coast' hotel. She then knocked on the window of his room from the adjacent hotel. Since no one was in the room at that time, she waited for him to return.
